How to apply for Financial Delegation
A Financial Delegation is the authority to approve expenditures or enter in financial commitments on behalf of UNSW.
Before applying for a financial delegation, you should have already discussed and agreed on this delegation with your nominator, who is usually your supervisor. The nominator is delegating to you some of his or her Financial Delegation, and the expenses you might authorise must be within your nominator's area of accountability. You are accountable to your nominator. Note that your nominator must have an existing delegation at least double your delegation.
To view what your financial delegation is, or to apply, log in to myUNSW then click on "My Financial Delegation". If you have a Financial Delegation the amount of your delegation will be displayed. If you wish to increase your limit click on the "Apply to increase limit" button.
If you do not have a Financial Delegation the words "you have no current financial delegation for this job" will display. From here you can click on the Apply for Financial Delegation button to appy for delegation.
Please note! Just because you have Financial Delegation does not mean you will be able to perform approvals in NS Financials. You must apply for this separately through the Service Desk by completing the Access to NS Financials form and applying for "Approver" access.
